When Barry Winchell (Troy Garity, Barbershop) is assigned to the Airborne Infantry at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, he joins the prestigious “Screaming Eagles,” a division where men bond with the knowledge that someday they may be called upon to lay down their lives for one another. Men such as Barry’s macho roommate, Justin Fisher (Shawn Hatosy, In & Out), an alienated and deeply troubled recruit who finds in Barry a friend he can finally call his own. Then one night, Justin drags Barry to a popular Nashville club. The star attraction is the flamboyantly beautiful—and trans-gendered—Calpernia Addams (newcomer Lee Pace).
