Conundrum

When Joey Tam (Arthur Eng), the sadistic son of ganglord Tony Tam (Harvey Chao) is killed in a police sting, the father vows revenge. Shortly thereafter, Horak’s pregnant wife (Karen Waddell) and a co-worker are found savagely murdered. Police investigators, led by Captain Kirkland (Peter MacNeill) find that the elder Tam has an alibi. At the same time, Detective Gordon Mulvaney (Ron White), who has a long-time grudge against Ekberg, discovers and reveals that she and Horak have been romantically involved — that, in fact, the relationship has grown hotter in the days since the murder. Mulvaney then uncovers circumstantial evidence that makes Ekberg the focus of scrutiny.
